About Us

St. John's UCC Harmony

"Welcome to the United Church of Christ—a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. The UCC was founded in 1957 as the union of several different Christian traditions: from the beginning of our history, we were a church that affirmed the ideal that Christians did not always have to agree to live together in communion. Our motto—"that they may all be one"—is Jesus' prayer for the unity of the church. The UCC is one of the most diverse Christian churches in the United States."

Faith Statement

  • St. John's UCC, as a faith community, centered in God, who comes to us as Creator, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, is calling us:  to come together for worship and hearing of God's word.
  • To share the Gospel with children, youth and adults.
  • To create an atmosphere where everyone can share the joy of praising God through a variety of activities.
  • To be prepared to respond to the changing needs of the surrounding community.
  • To recognize the presence of God who brings healing and wholeness to our daily lives.

Mission Statement

St. John's UCC is :  A joy filled Body of Christ in harmony, yielding to the wind of the Holy Spirit, seeking to serve God.

Mark 10:14

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them,

"Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Come worship with us!
